Pregnancy has always been said as the main factor which can cause swollen feet and legs in women. Well, that is true. Nevertheless, swollen feet and legs can be experienced by the men, too; and the cause is various.
The swollen feet and legs are neither painful nor dangerous. At the same time, it is not a kind of disease; although it can be the symptom of certain disease. Thus, you have to be knowledgeable about the root cause of your swollen feet and legs, in order that you can choose the best treatments for such condition.

Below are some common causes of swollen feet and legs:

  • Being inactive for too long. Sitting the whole day in front of your computer at the office or lying on your bed because of sick all the time will possibly cause swollen feet and legs because the blood does not circulate well.
  • Pregnancy. Holding heavy load on your womb may cause the legs to be tired more often and easier than in normal condition. The pressure going to the legs can start the swelling.

  • The wrong choice of sock and shoes. Too tight shoes and sock also possibly cause swollen feet and legs due to the pressure they bring.
Other causes of swollen feet and legs can be the high salt intake, malnutrition, lack of water consumption, and some serious illness like kidney or liver disorders.
